Philo is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer for Video Engineering to design and optimize our video ingest, transcode, and delivery platform. You will work on a highly distributed, cloud-based pipeline supporting live and on-demand streaming across platforms.

The role emphasizes building scalable RESTful services, improving QoE, and partnering with Ads, Client, and Data teams. Remote options within the U.S. are available, with a strong focus on performance, security, and reliability.

Qualificações

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Proven track record of building highly efficient and highly available software using Golang, Java, C++ or similar languages.
• Deep experience with concurrent programming.
• Experience operating in cloud environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to own and drive complex tasks to completion with Scrum/Agile.
• Experience handling large data and using relational and non-relational databases.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, deploy and monitor the next generation of Philo’s video streaming pipeline.
• Collaborate with content partners to engineer systems delivering optimal TV watching experiences.
• Build scalable data pipelines for ingesting video and analytics events.
• Collaborate with video delivery, ad operations, and data science teams to measure and optimize video delivery and user experience.
• Drive improvements to reliability, performance, latency and security.
• Evaluate and develop video encoding technologies to optimize quality and reduce CDN costs.
• Assist client engineering teams in testing Philo apps across platforms.
