Job summary
General Motors seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that power our vehicle data platform. You will work across teams to build observability, ensure privacy, and support autonomy initiatives.
You will lead cross-functional design, mentor peers, and contribute to production operations while advancing observability and data-quality systems.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with production systems ownership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Proficiency in Python or another modern backend language.
- Strong experience designing scalable backend services, APIs, and relational data models.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, asynchronous workflows, data ingestion, testing, debugging, and production operations.
- Ability to communicate technical decisions and lead work across organizational boundaries.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop APIs, domain services, event-driven workflows, and vehicle-recording metadata pipelines.
- Build services and UIs for defining collection events and triggers, selecting data, and deploying campaigns.
- Design version-aware workflows across vehicle platforms.
