Job summary

General Motors is seeking an Agentic Data Engineer in Austin to design, build, and scale data and AI platforms for vehicle product engineering. You will shape end‑to‑end data solutions, partnering with data scientists and engineers to deliver robust, production‑grade services and agentic workflows.

You will lead architecture, governance, and KPI monitoring, ensuring secure, scalable systems across plants and regions while aligning with GM’s Zero Crashes and Zero Emissions vision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in CS or related field; or equivalent industry experience.
• 12+ years of delivering large‑scale data solutions and leading technical direction.
• 8+ years in data engineering; strong focus on batch/streaming pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python/Scala/Java and orchestration tools.
• Experience with LangGraph, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, or LlamaIndex.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical roadmaps for vehicle product engineering data platforms and agentic automation.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of complex data engineering initiatives across design to manufacturing and support.
• Establish governance, observability, and cost management across data and compute layers.
