Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a backend-focused engineer to help power the stablecoin-based money movement infrastructure. You will design and build backend systems, APIs, and internal tools to enable fast, secure transfers across the Coinbase ecosystem.

You will partner with product, design, infra, and compliance to balance speed with security and regulatory requirements, while driving end-to-end delivery as a direct responsible individual.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience building and operating backend systems, preferably fintech/payments/crypto.
• Proficiency in backend languages (Go, Java) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP).
• Track record as DRI for technical projects, from design to production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Own key projects end-to-end as DRI, driving money movement features from design to deployment.
• Build backend systems, infrastructure, and APIs for stablecoin-based payments.
• Collaborate with Product/Design/Infra/Compliance to balance speed, security, and regulatory needs.
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed systems.
• Support engineering quality through code reviews and best practices.
