Verkada is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to shape our internal access management architecture and define technical strategy across the company. You will own the architecture, build backend infrastructure, integrate identity providers, automate access workflows with AI, and ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• BS in computer science or equivalent.
• 5+ years backend or security platform experience.
• Experience building access management platforms from ground up.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM.
• Experience with cloud-native infra (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform).
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of Verkada's internal access management platform.
• Design, build, and operate highly available backend infrastructure.
• Extend integrations with identity providers, role mapping, and IaC.
• Build automation for access reviews and AI-assisted risk scoring.
• Create developer tools to request, approve, and audit access.
