Atticus is hiring a senior backend-leaning software engineer to join the Representation Pod, building core tools for law firms in our network and delivering consistent representation for clients. You’ll own complex backend challenges around data structures, systems, and APIs, while staying connected to clients and lawyers who use the products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production software, including time at a seed-stage startup or early product team member with growing ownership.
• Experience on a high-performing product team with PMs and designers to ship user-focused solutions.
• Experience designing and operating reliable, scalable backend systems and APIs with strong data modeling.
• Deep user empathy and focus on the people using what you build, not just the code.
• Track record of mentoring engineers and helping teammates grow.

Responsibilities

• Own significant backend systems end-to-end with high architectural and production health standards.
• Collaborate with product and design to shape requirements and contribute opinions.
• Apply 0-to-1 product thinking to impact clients’ wellbeing through backend work.
• Mentor engineers on backend patterns and practices.
• Work across the stack from frontend UI to data systems as needed.
