Job summary

EngagedMD is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to architect and drive backend systems in a fully remote role based in the United States. You will own design, implementation, and operation of backend services, partnering with Product, Design, and Customer Success to translate complex user needs into resilient product capabilities.

Leverage TypeScript, Node.js, and modern frameworks to shape scalable architectures, drive performance, and write maintainable code.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering with backend focus.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript and production backend services.
• Strong system design for large-scale systems.
• Able to operate autonomously in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Lead system design for new and existing platforms with reliability and scalability.
• Own complex backend domains end-to-end from design to operation.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, frontend, infra, and Customer Success to translate goals.
• Propose implementation approaches with tradeoffs, scope, and risks.
• Drive backend standards, observability, and performance.
