Job summary

ExtraHop is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Middleware to design, implement and operate backend services in Go and Python. You’ll lead agile development, review code, and mentor engineers while driving technical excellence across the team.

You will work on a secure, scalable platform with cloud services (AWS) and Terraform for IaC, contributing to high-availability systems and customer-focused features. Remote within the United States with preference for Seattle area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Solid knowledge of Go and Python.
• Experience in API development and PostgresSQL design/SQL performance.
• Experience building and scaling distributed, highly available systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain services written in Go and Python powering ExtraHop’s products.
• Lead and participate in agile development processes, code reviews, and technical strategy discussions.
• Provide technical leadership to junior team members and mentor the team.
• Act as a technical expert, fostering excellence, curiosity and collaborative problem solving.
• Address technical debt proactively and improve the codebase and stack.
