Job summary

ExtraHop Networks, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain backend services in Go and Python, ensuring fault tolerance and high availability. You will lead agile processes, review code, and mentor junior engineers while solving complex problems and driving technical excellence.

The role emphasizes secure, scalable, customer-centric features on a Python/Golang/React stack, with AWS/GCP infrastructure and a strong focus on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Solid knowledge of Go, Python, or an equivalent programming language.
• Experience in API development, PostgreSQL database design or SQL query performance optimization.
• Experience building and scaling distributed, highly available systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills, self-starter mentality, and technical ownership.
• Effective communication and collaboration in fast-paced, agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain services written in Go and Python powering ExtraHop’s products.
• Lead and participate in agile development processes, code reviews, and technical strategy discussions.
• Provide technical leadership to junior team members and mentorship.
• Act as a technical expert, fostering excellence and collaborative problem solving.
• Address technical debt and continually improve codebase and stack.
