Job summary

Worldly is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, scale, and maintain critical backend services processing vast ESG data. You will build robust RESTful APIs using Python frameworks, optimize PostgreSQL models, and deploy on AWS in a remote, distributed environment.

You will collaborate with product and data teams to translate complex requirements into reliable software while upholding testing, CI/CD, and observability standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production experience building scalable backend applications and distributed systems.
• Deep proficiency in Python and frameworks (Django, FastAPI, or Flask).
• Strong hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL, query tuning, schema design, and indexing.
• Experience with AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3) and Docker.
• Test-driven development, CI/CD, and production monitoring.
• Clear written and verbal English in distributed environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and optimize robust RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Scale and optimize data pipelines and backend systems.
