Job summary

Future PLC is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, implement, and scale APIs, data pipelines, and core services across our health-focused platform. You will work with Go, AWS, and PostgreSQL to deliver reliable, scalable backend capabilities that empower product teams and users.

This remote-first role is open to candidates across the continental United States. You will join a fast-moving startup culture with equities, a strong compensation range, and on-call responsibilities approximately one

Qualifications

• 8+ years of production backend/API development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Go, AWS, Docker (ECS) and Postgres (RDS).
• Experience managing Docker-based microservice architecture.
• Ability to balance engineering excellence with velocity in a fast-moving startup.
• Nice to have: ETL experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test APIs for new products, features, and services
• Maintain and optimize existing systems, with emphasis on database-related performance
• Collaborate with other engineers across the stack as well as cross-functional stakeholders
• Keep up to date with the latest technologies and industry best practices
• Serve as on-call engineer approximately one week per month, triaging issues during non-working hours
