Job summary

EarnIn is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own always-on backend services for money movement across multiple rails. You will design, implement, and operate real-time transfers with a focus on reliability and observability.

Expect to work with AI-assisted tooling daily and contribute to cross-functional projects across data science, product, and finance teams. This role offers a hybrid working model with potential travel to Mountain View HQ, healthcare, stipends for internet and cell phone,

Qualifications

• 4+ years of delivering value through software in a collaborative environment.
• Experience with microservice architectures.
• Proficient in at least one modern programming language (C#) and able to learn others.
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Datadog) and improving service reliability.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding and productivity tools in daily engineering work.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and release pipelines.
• Experience developing and executing functional and integration tests.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including incident communication.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features for money movement systems with scalable architecture.
• Own service health: participate in on-call, respond to incidents, and conduct blameless postmortems.
• Use AI tooling in design, coding, testing, debugging, and incident response to improve product quality.
• Improve reliability by building monitoring, dashboards, and runbooks.
• Debug production issues across microservices and data layers.
• Develop robust REST/gRPC API integrations and messaging patterns.
• Create test automation to speed CI/CD and deployments.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Collaborate with data science, product, and finance teams.
