Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Loan Origination and Reporting to scale data platforms processing real-time loan originations and provide accurate reporting to affirm and partners. You’ll own quarterly goals, lead engineers, and collaborate with product, design, and analytics throughout the lifecycle.

You’ll build scalable backend systems with Python or Kotlin, leverage AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes, and develop data pipelines using Spark or Airflow, while maintaining strong ownership

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience building highly available distributed systems.
• Expertise in scalable data pipelines with Spark, Airflow, or similar.
• Ability to define technical plans for large features with clean designs.
• Ownership mindset with proactive growth and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own quarterly goals for your team and deliver through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics across the lifecycle.
• Identify and solve project, process, or tech issues with leadership.
• Maintain & monitor team artifacts with metrics and on-call support.
