Job summary

Horizon3 is a fully remote cybersecurity company delivering NodeZero platform solutions for autonomous pentests across diverse environments. We seek a Senior Backend Engineer to own admin-related services, access controls, and multi-tenant workflows, collaborating with Product and frontend teams to ensure reliability and security.

You will design, implement, test, and roll out backend features, mentor peers, and contribute to robust observability and documentation across the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience designing and operating backend services and APIs.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience with data modeling.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerized apps (Docker).
• Focus on testing, reliability, observability and clear technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services and APIs for multi-tenant admin workflows.
• Own features from design through tests, rollout, and production support.
• Apply secure authorization and data-modeling for parent-child accounts.
• Investigate production issues to improve reliability and performance.
• Write maintainable code, tests, design docs, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with Product, frontend, and platform teams to ensure cohesion.
• Mentor teammates through design discussions and code reviews.
