Job summary

Horizon3 is a remote cybersecurity company delivering NodeZero autonomous pentests. We seek a Senior Backend Engineer on the External Attack team to own core API services, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.

You’ll work across Python, databases, and Kubernetes, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability while enabling rapid product launches. You’ll design scalable workflows, optimize SQL, contribute to datalake architecture on AWS, and collaborate with frontend, product, and design

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience with workflow orchestration systems (Prefect, Temporal, Airflow, Celery).
Hands-on data processing and ETL pipeline experience.
Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containers (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain features in Python API, focusing on performance and reliability.
Implement scalable workflow orchestration for large-scale workloads (Prefect/Temporal).
Build scalable orchestration across concurrent workflows with clear observability.
Develop and optimize high-throughput data processing and ETL pipelines.
Contribute to AWS data lake architecture and GraphQL backends.
