Job summary

Horizon3 is a remote cybersecurity company delivering NodeZero autonomous pentests and security assessments. As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Admin Experience team, you will design, build, and operate backend services and APIs for user access, account hierarchies, settings, and administration workflows.

You will own features end-to-end, apply secure authorization and data-modeling practices, and collaborate with Product, frontend engineers, and partner teams to deliver reliable, scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and operating backend services and APIs.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerized apps (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Demonstrated focus on testing, observability, and clear technical communication.
• Depth in key languages/areas with ability to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services and APIs for user access and admin workflows.
• Own features from design through tests, rollout, and production support.
• Apply secure authorization and data-modeling for multi-tenant accounts.
• Investigate production issues and improve reliability and observability.
• Write and review maintainable code, tests, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with Product, frontend engineers, and partner teams on workflows.
• Mentor teammates through design discussions and code reviews.
