Job summary

Base-2 Solutions, LLC is seeking a Software Engineer to support a long-term DIA-NDOC DOMEX Technology Platform project in Bethesda, MD. You will work with Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, and Operations on backend/middle-tier tasks, with primarily on-site work and some remote responsibilities.

The role emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and professional development within an adaptive team, with exposure to modern data platforms and cloud-native tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of experience or Master's with 6+ years.
• Proficiency in Python and backend frameworks (FastAPI, Flask).
• Experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes.
• Experience with ETL processes and Linux bash scripting.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservice architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins).
• Familiarity with AGILE practices and DevOps methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Python microservices.
• Implement message consumers and producers with Kafka.
• Integrate with Elasticsearch for real-time and batch data indexing.
• Write unit and integration tests with high coverage.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and deploy in Kubernetes clusters.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architecture planning.
• Monitor production issues using observability tools.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver quality software.
