Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer Level 5 to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems for mission-focused environments. This role emphasizes backend development, data engineering, and API work using Python and FastAPI, with PostgreSQL design and scalable integrations for high-speed, data-sensitive systems.

The position requires active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph and extensive experience in backend engineering, API development, and database management.

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
Backend developer experience.
Data engineering and API development experience.
Experience with Python and FastAPI.
Experience designing and managing PostgreSQL databases with efficient SQL and indexing.
Proficiency in Elasticsearch.
Experience building high-performance API connections between high-speed, high-volume systems.
Strong SQL/scripting skills.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems including analytics and real-time components.
Contribute to software component design and trade-offs for hardware/software integration.
Design, implement, and integrate software applications and tasks.
Apply software engineering methodologies suitable for development and production environments.
Ensure repeatable, standards-based delivery of capabilities.
Mitigate risks, control costs, and manage large-scale software projects.
Review and test components and document results.
