Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer Level 5 to develop, maintain, and enhance complex backend systems supporting mission-focused environments. This role centers on Python and FastAPI, API development, and PostgreSQL database design and optimization for high-performance, data-sensitive operations.

The ideal candidate has a TS/SCI with CI Polygraph, strong experience in data engineering, scalable systems, and delivering robust software components with reusable design and efficient

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• Backend development experience.
• Data engineering and API development experience.
• Experience with Python and FastAPI.
• Experience with PostgreSQL databases and indexing.
• Proficiency in Elasticsearch.
• Experience building high-performance API connections.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems including analytics, large data sets, real-time systems and MIS.
• Provide input to software component design including trade-offs and requirements analysis.
• Design, implement, and integrate software applications or perform software engineering tasks.
• Use software engineering and design methodologies suitable for development, integration and production environments.
• Ensure efficient delivery of software engineering capabilities using standard processes.
• Mitigate risks, control costs, and manage large-scale software projects.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document results.
