Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer Level 4 to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems for mission-focused environments. The role emphasizes backend development, data engineering, and API work using Python and FastAPI, with PostgreSQL database design and high-performance integrations.

The position requires TS/SCI with CI Polygraph, strong backend and data/API expertise, and experience building scalable systems.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph is required.
• Demonstrated experience as a backend developer.
• Experience in data engineering and API development.
• Experience with Python and FastAPI.
• Experience designing and managing PostgreSQL databases with efficient SQL and indexing.
• Experience with Elasticsearch.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems including analytics and real-time data processing.
• Contribute to software component design including trade-offs and COTS/GOTS considerations.
• Design, implement, and integrate software applications and tasks.
• Apply software engineering methodologies suitable for development and production environments.
• Deliver software engineering capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.
• Mitigate risks, control costs, and manage large-scale software projects.
• Review and test software components and document results.
