Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer Level 4 to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems supporting mission-focused environments. This role emphasizes backend development, data engineering, and API work using Python and FastAPI with PostgreSQL databases.

The candidate will design and implement scalable data-centric solutions, integrate high-speed APIs, and ensure robust software delivery in mission-critical systems. TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph required.
• Backend development experience required.
• Experience in data engineering and API development.
• Experience building scalable systems with Python and FastAPI.
• Experience designing and managing PostgreSQL databases with efficient SQL and indexing.
• Proficiency in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch.
• Experience building high-performance API connections between mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems including analytics and real-time components.
• Provide input to software component design, including trade-offs and requirements synthesis.
• Design, implement, and integrate software applications and perform software engineering tasks.
• Apply appropriate software engineering methodologies in development and production environments.
• Ensure efficient delivery of software capabilities using standards and repeatable processes.
• Mitigate risks, control costs and schedule variance for large-scale projects.
• Review and test software components and document test results.
