Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead backend development, data engineering, and API efforts in mission-focused environments. Expect scalable systems using Python and FastAPI, and PostgreSQL database design with high-performance integrations.

The role emphasizes on-site work at Annapolis Junction, MD, with Top Secret/SCI clearance requirements and collaboration across cross-functional teams on complex analytics and large data sets.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• Backend development experience.
• Data engineering & API development experience.
• Experience with Python & FastAPI.
• Designing and managing PostgreSQL databases.
• Proficiency in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems, including analytics, large data sets, real-time systems, and MIS applications.
• Provide input to software component design, including trade-offs and requirements analysis from system to component level.
• Design, implement, and integrate software applications or perform engineering tasks.
• Use engineering methodologies appropriate to development, integration, and production environments.
• Ensure efficient delivery of software capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.
• Mitigate risks, control costs, and manage large-scale, integrated software projects.
• Review and test software components and document results.
