Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Payments team within our Platform organization. You will design and build scalable backend services for processing high-volume payments and own features end-to-end from design to production rollout.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional partners to expand payment capabilities across markets, iterating to improve reliability and performance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in production services.
• Proficiency in Go or similar languages with API design experience.
• Experience owning features end-to-end in fast-moving environments.
• Experience with financial systems, payments, or high-volume transactional systems.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, fault-tolerant backend services for payment processing using Go.
• Own end-to-end delivery of payment features—from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Build platform primitives and self-serve APIs for adding new payment methods and rails.
• Partner with engineers, product managers, and leadership to translate product vision into technical plans.
• Improve system reliability, observability, and performance across payment services.
• Contribute to engineering quality through code reviews and design discussions.
