Job summary

Connexity, a Taboola company, seeks a skilled backend engineer to join our Internal Tools team in Santa Monica. You will help build a new advertiser management platform unifying legacy systems with a focus on high-performance middleware and backend services.

The role involves designing APIs, data models, and scalable architectures, collaborating with product, design, and engineering, and shaping the data layer while staying current with AI-assisted development tooling.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend development experience.
• Proficiency in Java; knowledge of Python/Node.js/Go is a plus.
• Must-have Spring Boot experience.
• Strong RESTful API design and implementation.
• Relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL); NoSQL/BigQuery a plus.
• Experience designing distributed systems and microservices.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and evaluating AI-generated code.
• Excellent collaboration and Agile experience.
• Degree in CS or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend systems.
• Develop APIs, microservices, and server-side components.
• Design and optimize relational schemas and queries.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams.
• Identify and troubleshoot complex technical issues and improve performance.
• Maintain code quality with testing, reviews, and documentation.
