Job summary

Read AI, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the Integrations team’s backend systems that connect Read AI to external platforms like Google, Slack, Zoom, and Salesforce. You will design new integrations, improve scalability, and standardize integration patterns as the user base grows.

You’ll work on event-driven infrastructure (Kafka, SQS, CDC streaming) and build APIs that support platform services, with a focus on reliability and speed for future integrations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend/distributed systems.
• Strong experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS, or similar).
• Strong API design skills for distributed services.
• Familiar with OAuth2, webhooks, and rate limits.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python or Java) and ability to ramp up in Python.
• Experience navigating and improving a production codebase and strong system design skills.

Responsibilities

• Design new integrations with third-party platforms, from OAuth2 connections to data sync.
• Ship integration features end-to-end across push and pull data flows.
• Standardize and generalize integration patterns to speed future work.
• Design clean, well-structured APIs to support integration features and platform services.
• Improve scalability, reliability, and observability of integration systems.
