The role leads backend engineers, collaborates with product, design, and analytics, and drives delivery with a strong emphasis on ownership, code quality, and mentorship.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with Python or Kotlin and distributed systems.
• Proficient in AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to write high-quality, maintainable code.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own quarterly goals for your team and lead engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics through ideation and planning, considering constraints and trade-offs.
• Proactively identify and resolve project, process, technology or business issues.
• Support operations and on-call efforts to maintain availability of artifacts.
• Set code review and design standards and promote them beyond your team through writing and talks.
• Develop talent on your team through feedback and mentorship.
