You will design, build, and maintain high-performance backend services across platforms, collaborating with product and design teams in a hybrid setup in Sunnyvale, CA and Austin, TX. You will mentor junior engineers and help shape system architecture.

The role emphasizes production-quality code, scalability, and strong CS fundamentals with a focus on customer-facing software and IoT-enabled fleet solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on backend software development.
• Experience building production-quality, scalable distributed systems.
• Experience in one of the JVM languages Java/Scala/Kotlin + SpringBoot.
• Strong CS fundamentals, OO concepts, data structures, algorithms and systems architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable backend services and systems.
• Build and launch new capabilities and products for GM Commercial Software.
• Uphold high engineering standards and drive quality improvements across codebases.
