You will own end-to-end systems powering eligibility ingestion, claims, and care workflows, with a focus on reliability and HIPAA-compliant data handling.

The role requires leadership in shaping architecture, collaborating with product, analytics, and operations, and mentoring engineers in a fast-paced startup healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Expertise in AWS serverless architecture (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway).
• Strong Python engineering fundamentals and TDD.
• Experience building B2C and B2B large-scale systems.
• Proven ability to ship and operate at scale with HIPAA-conscious data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and build large-scale serverless systems on AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, Step Functions, EventBridge, Kafka).
• Architect durable workflows for claims processing and eligibility updates.
• Create and evolve backend APIs for B2C and B2B integrations.
• Develop backend services in Python with TDD practices.
• Ensure secure data flows aligned with HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with Analytics, Data Engineering, and Ops to build data pipelines.
• Lead architectural discussions and drive scalable, long-term solutions.
