Job summary

Oxbridge Health is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead the design and implementation of high-scale, serverless backend services on AWS using Python. You will own systems end-to-end—from architecture and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement—ensuring reliability, performance, and security for healthcare workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years backend engineering experience.
• Expert AWS serverless stack including Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Step Functions, Kafka/SQS.
• Strong Python with TDD and clean design principles.
• Experience designing high-scale, distributed systems with observability.
• Experience building B2C and B2B systems serving thousands of users.
• Proficient in PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, RDS, Kafka and caching strategies.
• Strong RESTful API design and ownership mindset.
• Collaboration with SecOps/DevOps, GitHub Actions, and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale serverless backend services.
• Own systems end-to-end from design to production.
• Develop data pipelines, APIs, event-driven workflows.
• Ensure security and HIPAA-aligned data handling.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product and analytics teams.
