Job summary

The Walt Disney Company seeks a Product Software Engineer II to design, develop, and operate scalable backend services for Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology in Glendale, CA. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
3+ years of experience building and operating highly available distributed backend systems.
Experience with Golang (preferred) and/or Java in production environments.
Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.

Responsibilities

Communicate with stakeholders on project progress.
Design and develop new solutions and drive alignment across teams.
Test strategy: unit, integration, performance tests.
Follow on‑call practices including deployments and monitoring.
Analyze logs and incidents to identify root causes across distributed components.
Participate in code reviews and promote quality.
Collaborate with product, editorial, and engineering to translate requirements into solutions.
Champion best practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, and incident response.
Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing across teams.
