United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a distributed team building production-grade applications powered by Generative AI. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable services using Node.js/TypeScript, and deploy on AWS.

You will integrate LLM capabilities, work across serverless and containerized environments, and help address production challenges around latency, cost, security, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Integrate Generative AI and LLM capabilities into production-grade applications.
• Design and operate cloud-native architectures on AWS across serverless and containerized environments.
• Build and deploy containerized workloads using EC2, ECS/EKS, and Kubernetes.
• Build LLM-powered capabilities using Bedrock and patterns like RAG, tool calling, context management, prompting, and knowledge indexing.
• Address production AI challenges including latency, cost, traceability, and observability.
• Apply engineering best practices around scalability, security, resilience, and maintainability.
• Contribute to backend and cloud architecture with informed trade-offs.
• Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to deliver AI-powered capabilities to production.
