Job summary

JetBrains' ThinkRail project seeks a senior backend or full-stack engineer to build and evolve developer tools, including VS Code and IntelliJ plugins, and to develop the language server that powers analysis, completion, diagnostics, and verification.

You will work with TypeScript, DSLs, and AI agent integrations, collaborating with the founder to guide technical decisions in a fast-moving, small team with high autonomy. Remote work from Germany is available.

Qualifications

• Senior backend or full-stack engineer with ownership
• Experience with TypeScript or similar
• Strong engineering fundamentals and problem ownership
• Nice to have experience with developer tools, DSLs, static analysis, or editor plugins

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve ThinkRail’s developer tooling, including VS Code and IntelliJ IDEA plugins
• Develop the language server, including analysis, completion, diagnostics, and verification
• Improve the evaluator that turns specs into code and detects drift
• Integrate ThinkRail with AI agent frameworks and protocols
• Collaborate closely with the founder to shape technical decisions as the product evolves
