Job summary

AllianceIT Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with Java or Kotlin to design, build, and ship production-ready services and internal applications that empower our teams and clients.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Fluency with Kotlin, Ruby on Rails, Typescript.
• Experience building production-ready web apps with reliability and security.
• Experience shaping architecture and technical direction.
• Familiarity with event-based architectures and GraphQL APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship backend services and internal tooling end-to-end.
• Produce high-quality, secure, and testable code.
• Develop across our stack including JVM, Elixir, Ruby, React, GraphQL, Kafka, AWS/Lambda, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB.
• Influence architectural decisions, standards, and delivery for team-owned systems.
• Review pull requests, pair with teammates, and support onboarding.
• Deploy production code responsibly.

This is a remote position to work from LATAM collaborating with US clients.

• $35-$40 USD per hour

Title: Senior Software Engineer with Java or Kotlin

In this role, you will design, build, and ship production-ready services and internal web applications that help our teams operate accurately and efficiently. You will partner closely with product, design, and engineering leadership, influence technical direction, and help shape the systems that keep our platform reliable, secure, and easy to extend.

What You Get To Do Every Day

• Design, build, and ship backend services and internal tooling that support our teams and customers, owning medium-to-large features end to end so teammates can understand, operate, and extend what you ship.
• Produce high-quality, performant, secure, and testable code that contributes to company-wide initiatives; handle data in accordance with company policy.
• Develop across our stack, including JVM (Java, Kotlin), Elixir, Ruby, React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Kafka, AWS/Lambda, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and related tooling.
• Influence technical decisions on architecture, standards, and delivery for the systems your team owns.
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback; pair with teammates and support onboarding when needed.
• Deploy user-facing and operator-facing code to production responsibly.

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years professional software development experience
• Fluency with Kotlin, Ruby-on-Rails, Typescript
• Experience building production-ready web applications and backend systems with reliability and security in mind.
• Experience influencing technical direction (architecture, standards, delivery), not only executing predefined tasks.
• Familiarity with event-based architectures, event streaming (for example Kafka), database fundamentals, and GraphQL or comparable APIs.
