Lithic is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Product Platform team, building the core API layer that powers all Lithic products. You will design and implement reliable, scalable backend services with emphasis on API gateway, events, key management, and audit logging.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building production backend systems, ideally including public-facing APIs at scale.
• Experience in or willingness to learn Rust; ability to read Python/Java in Lithic's stack.
• Interest in using AI tools to boost productivity.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive practical solutions.
• Experience with API design fundamentals: versioning, backward compatibility, schema-driven development.
• Strong written communication; comfortable in an async-first remote team across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Write reliable, secure, and scalable code for Lithic's product platform with minimal tech debt.
• Improve the reliability of systems in the team's scope and participate in the on-call rotation.
• Own projects from planning to launch, spanning API key management, reliability, audit logging, or search.
• Lead efforts to improve systems and processes within the team.
