Job summary

Stash is seeking backend engineers to design, develop, and maintain our Core Banking System built with Go and an asynchronous architecture. The role is hybrid and based in our New York office, requiring on-site presence at least three days per week to collaborate with stakeholders.

You will work with the Accounts Team to ensure scalability, reliability, and security while contributing to fintech infrastructure and AI-assisted development practices.

Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years of professional backend experience.
• Strong proficiency in Go or Rails.
• Experience with event-driven, asynchronous architectures.
• Data-driven decision making with willingness to iterate quickly.
• Relational/distributed databases experience (CockroachDB/PostgreSQL).
• Hands-on experience building scalable, fault-tolerant backend services.
• Knowledge of testing, debugging, and profiling.
• Familiarity with AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services for Core Banking System.
• Architect and implement asynchronous workflows for transactions.
• Scale and optimize system for high availability and security.
• Leverage AI coding assistants to rapidly implement services.
• Collaborate with operations and infrastructure teams.
• Continuously deploy and monitor services in the cloud.
• Debug, test, and document code for quality.
