Job summary

Level AI in Mountain View seeks a backend engineer to build and scale our AI-driven platform used by US customers. You will design and implement robust REST APIs, real-time services, and data pipelines using Python, Django, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Kubernetes.

3–6 years of backend experience and a solid CS foundation are required. Django is highly desirable, with exposure to NLP-related ML concepts a plus. EST timezone work is essential to provide coverage for US customers.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech from top engineering institutes with relevant work experience.
• Minimum 3–6 years backend experience, with Python preferred.
• Django experience highly desirable.
• Experience with FastAPI, MongoDB, real-time or streaming backends, and LLM-backed search/RAG is a plus.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, data management, and REST API design.
• Some machine learning experience in NLP is preferable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and CS fundamentals.
• Able to work in EST Timezone to support US customers.

Competencies: Python, Django, FastAPI, Relational database understanding (viz: PostgreSQL, SQL), MongoDB, ETL, Database design, Strong experience in designing REST APIs, real-time/streaming systems (WebSockets, gRPC), search/RAG, Cache, Redis, Celery, CI/CD, GCP, Kubernetes and Docker.

Requirements:

• Qualification: B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech from top Engineering institutes with relevant work experience with a top technology company.

• Minimum 3-6 years of backend experience. Experience in at least one higher-level language, preferably Python.

• Experience in Django is highly desirable.

• Experience with FastAPI, MongoDB, real-time or streaming backends, and LLM-backed search/RAG is a plus.

• Good understanding of relational databases, data management, and REST API design.

• Some machine learning experience in the context of NLP would be preferable.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.

• Possess an extremely sound understanding of areas in the basic areas of Computer Science such as Algorithms, Data Structures, Object Oriented Design, Databases.

• Able to work in EST Timezone in order to add technical coverage to US customers
