Harbinger Motors in California is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale our vehicle data platform. You will own core backend systems, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure to support telemetry, simulations, and analytics.

You will collaborate with embedded, data science, and frontend teams to deliver robust, secure systems, implement APIs, and maintain clear documentation. This role emphasizes scalable architecture, security, and performance in a fast-growing EV environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in CS, software eng or related field.
• 5+ years in backend, distributed systems or cloud architecture.
• Proficiency in Python/Java/Go/C++.
• Strong SQL and NoSQL database knowledge; API design.
• Experience with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes in cloud.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core backend systems for data and simulations.
• Build high-performance REST/GraphQL/gRPC APIs for internal and external use.
• Implement ETL pipelines and ensure data integrity and security.
• Optimize performance and scale cloud deployments via IaC.
• Collaborate with embedded, data science, and frontend teams.
• Create comprehensive documentation and tests.
