Job summary

Auria is seeking a Software Engineer to support the CCS-C Sustainment and Resiliency for current and future satellites. You will work on backend services using Java, C++, and Python in a DoD environment, onsite in Colorado Springs, CO.

Collaborate with DevSecOps, systems engineers, and testers to ensure secure, scalable software, and participate in Agile development cycles with emphasis on performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or related technical field with 4+ years (Master's) or 7+ years (Bachelor's) of relevant experience.
• Strong development experience in Java, C++, and Python on Linux-based systems.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures (SOA).
• Proficient with build systems (Maven/Gradle, CMake) and Git/GitHub.
• Experience with backend testing frameworks and Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services, APIs, and components.
• Collaborate with frontend, systems engineers, DevSecOps, and testers for integration.
• Develop software interacting with satellite ground systems and secure comms.
• Optimize performance and reliability via profiling and debugging.
• Support secure coding practices and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
• Participate in Agile sprints, planning, standups, and retrospectives.
• Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to architecture decisions.
