Job summary

Nutrient is seeking a backend engineer passionate about building robust, scalable systems and cloud-based document processing workflows. The role focuses on Elixir/Phoenix-based services, Kubernetes, and modern cloud tooling to power our Document Engine and SaaS products.

You’ll join a small, remote-first team, own architecture, contribute to reliability, GitOps practices, and collaborate across the stack while occasionally meeting in person to align on the roadmap.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend services and distributed systems.
• Production workloads on Kubernetes and AWS.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices.
• Strong code craftsmanship and pragmatic architectural judgment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance Elixir/Phoenix-based systems.
• Build declarative infrastructure and observability for scalable deployments.
• Operate and evolve managed cloud platform with GitOps workflows.
• Collaborate with a small remote-first team to ship features and debug issues.
• Occasionally meet in person to align on the roadmap.
