Job summary

Grafana is seeking a senior engineer to own the technical direction for Tempo, our open-source tracing backend, across multi-month design, delivery, and operations initiatives.

You will shepherd core Tempo components—ingestion, storage, query, and metrics generation—while driving reliability through automation and SLOs, and mentor engineers across product, staff, and community teams to shape Tempo into a scalable observability platform.
