Job summary

Camunda is seeking a Backend Senior Software Engineer on the Data Layer team. You will design, build, and maintain backend services for the data layer that stores and serves Camunda 8's process data across relational databases and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, with emphasis on correctness, performance, and scale.

You will own end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives, collaborating with Product Management and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into concrete designs and timely,

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services for Camunda 8's data layer, spanning relational databases and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
• Own end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives by breaking down requirements with Product Management.
• Evolve processing and retention of process data to enable customers to work with data their way.
• Improve secondary storage performance and scalability as usage grows.
• Participate in L3 support and on-call rotations, working with SRE to investigate data layer issues.
