Job summary

Langfuse is hiring a backend engineer to own the ingestion pipeline and optimize ClickHouse data models for fast, scalable analytics. You will design schemas, tune batch inserts, and build backend features that scale with growing data volumes.

You will work with a team near ClickHouse, reap insights from internals, and contribute to production-grade infrastructure. A strong focus on performance, reliability, and open source values guides the role.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineer with interest in database internals and distributed systems.
• Experience handling large data workflows and high-throughput event processing.
• Familiarity with analytical databases and data pipelines; ClickHouse is a plus but not required.
• Clear thinker who can decide what to build and how to ship it.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize the ingestion pipeline from API to ClickHouse, focusing on throughput, latency, reliability, and cost.
• Design and optimize ClickHouse schemas and queries to power dashboards and UI.
• Build infrastructure-heavy features and, if desired, contribute to frontend work.
• Run production tests with real data to validate improvements before migrations.
