Job summary

Roblox Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend, Distributed Systems) to design and build scalable backend services for the Creator Core Systems. You will work on distributed data pipelines, access controls, and Open Cloud APIs to serve a global creator community.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in backend distributed systems, strong proficiency in at least one major language, and a Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field; a Master’s is a plus.

Qualifications

• You have 7+ years of backend, distributed systems experience at scale.
• You are proficient in one or more programming languages (C#, Go, Java, C++, Python or similar).
• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; a Master's is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Solve a variety of unique technical challenges across Roblox backend systems.
• Design, build, test and deploy services end-to-end within the Roblox ecosystem.
• Guide the future technical direction of the team and influence engineering choices.
• Maintain high code quality, robust architectures, and long-term maintenance strategies.
• Mentor and grow fellow engineers on the team.
• Design scalable, resilient systems and collaborate with product and cross-functional teams.
