Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an experienced backend software engineer to own end-to-end delivery of distributed systems for cloud networking. You will design and build scalable services with Java, Spring, and Go, run them in Kubernetes, and optimize with AI-powered tools.

You’ll ensure reliability, security, and performance while collaborating with global engineering teams on multiple simultaneous projects. The role emphasizes ownership from concept to production, with opportunities to work on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Approximately 4–7 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in backend development and distributed systems.
• Demonstrated ability to build and launch software products or features from the ground up, while also being comfortable maintaining, understanding, and improving existing codebases.
• Strong CS fundamentals and hands-on experience with Java, Spring Framework, and Go.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, REST API design, database schema design, and multithreading concepts.
• Practical experience with Linux environments, containerization technologies, and Kubernetes-based application deployment.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Experience using AI-powered development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) in daily workflows.
• Strong knowledge of security principles for distributed, multi-tenant systems.
• Product-oriented mindset with ability to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills with ownership.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and geographies.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities for multiple concurrent projects.
• Experience or knowledge of networking technologies (BGP, SD‑WAN, cloud networking) is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete software development lifecycle from scoping and design through deployment and production management.
• Design, build, and maintain large-scale distributed systems for multi-cloud networking environments.
• Develop backend APIs and microservices using Java, Spring, Go, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to optimize coding processes and delivery.
• Take full responsibility for services including monitoring, escalations, on-call support, and bug resolution.
• Maintain and improve existing services by understanding codebases and optimizing performance.
• Apply strong software engineering principles to API architecture, database design, and multithreading.
• Ensure security, reliability, and scalability across distributed, multi-tenant systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and globally distributed teams on multiple projects.
