Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a backend engineer to design, build, and maintain complex systems that support AI workloads, billing, and energy trading. You will migrate workloads to proprietary GPU infrastructure, ensure high availability, and collaborate with product teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions.

You will own architectural decisions, work with production-grade systems, and deliver projects with a high degree of autonomy across the energy domain.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable excellence in software engineering, with strong problem-solving and system design capabilities.
• At least 3 years of software engineering experience, with expectations adjusted according to the seniority and scope of the position.
• Proven ability to define, architect, and build complex backend systems.
• Hands-on experience developing, deploying, and maintaining highly available production systems.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, reliability, scalability, and production engineering practices.
• Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and take ownership of systems throughout their lifecycle.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with product and engineering stakeholders.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, such as AWS CDK, is a plus.
• Previous experience in the energy sector is advantageous.
• Experience delivering consumer-facing products is also a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain complex backend systems from initial architecture to production deployment.
• Develop the inference layer supporting AI workloads serving millions of prompts daily.
• Migrate AI workloads to proprietary GPU infrastructure for better performance and control.
• Build systems processing energy settlement data with continuous recalculation.
• Develop real-time billing infrastructure with per-customer ordering and audit trails.
• Support energy trading, hedging, and reconciliation with exchanges.
• Ensure availability, reliability, scalability, and data integrity of backend services.
• Collaborate with product teams to translate requirements into architecture.
• Take ownership of technical decisions and deliver complex projects autonomously.
