Job summary

You will collaborate with Product, Platform/SRE, and Data/ML teams to improve reliability, mentor juniors, and drive engineering standards while ensuring HIPAA/GDPR compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 9 years of experience with distributed, cloud-native systems.
• Strong microservices architecture and REST API design experience.
• Production Kubernetes experience and service mesh familiarity.
• Hands-on with Kafka or RabbitMQ messaging systems.
• Strong Java with Spring Boot in production, plus Kotlin or Python a plus.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, or similar compliance and secure coding.
• Understanding of performance optimization and scalable architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and APIs for real-time biosensor data processing.
• Build backend services with Java Spring Boot and RESTful API patterns across microservices.
• Implement event-driven integrations with Kafka and RabbitMQ; contribute to analytics pipelines.
• Collaborate with SRE for observability, performance, and reliability across services.
• Participate in design reviews; define service boundaries and data models.
• Mentor junior engineers via code reviews and pair programming; uphold engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in incident response and post-mortems.
