Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a strong backend focus and full-stack capabilities. You will architect backend services, develop APIs, and collaborate with teams to deliver reliable, high-performance applications.

The role requires deep backend experience, cloud-native architectures, testing, and modern CI/CD practices, with dipping into full-stack work when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 12–15+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong backend development in Java/Spring and API design.
• Experience with relational databases and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, testing, and agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices.
• Create and maintain testing architectures for software applications.
• Build, test, and maintain high-performance, secure applications.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, customers, and engineers.
• Write clean, well-tested code following best practices.
• Review code and mentor junior engineers.
• Optimize applications for performance and reliability.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and planning.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Act as a technical expert across multiple projects.
