Job summary

Overland AI is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to build C2 interfaces and integrations for autonomous systems. You’ll design high-throughput Python services that connect robotic platforms to command-and-control ecosystems.

You'll work with FastAPI, asyncio, and Docker/Kubernetes, ensuring low-latency data streams across degraded networks while collaborating with robotics, autonomy, and frontend teams in Seattle.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional backend experience.
• Expert-level Python programming with asyncio and typing.
• Experience building production APIs with FastAPI.
• Experience integrating with TAK systems (Cursor on Target) and other C2 systems.
• Proficiency in C++, Go, or Rust.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/UDP, TLS) and data formats (XML, Protobuf, JSON).
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain C2 interface services that ingest, transform, and publish real-time telemetry, tracks, and tasking messages.
