Rushdown Studios in Saratoga Springs, NY is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and integrate cloud-based microservices serving multiple games. You will work on scalable backend features, collaborate with designers, and ensure smooth multiplayer experiences across platforms.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years in C++, 1+ year in Golang, and experience shipping games. The role is hybrid (office Tue–Thu) in Saratoga Springs with no relocation aid provided for distant applicants.

Qualifications

• 4+ years professional experience with C++.
• At least 1 year professional Golang experience.
• Experience shipping commercial games and writing maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Prototype and build cloud-based backend microservices.
• Maintain and improve distributed systems for multiple games.
• Collaborate with designers to optimize player experience.
• Integrate first-party platform features and console requirements.
• Work with external programmers to enable features efficiently.
• Develop new services and write design docs.
• Provide live feature support and releases.
• Troubleshoot crashes on PC and console.
• Engage with partners and provide technical feedback.
