Rushdown Studios is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our team in Saratoga Springs, NY on a hybrid basis (office Tue-Thu). You'll build out game backends, prototype cloud-based microservices, and collaborate with partners on tough engineering problems.

The ideal candidate has Go and C++ experience, plus familiarity with scalable databases and cloud platforms. You will influence technical direction and help deliver features that players worldwide enjoy.

Qualifications

• Three years of professional Go development experience.
• At least one year of professional C++ experience.
• Ability to dive into a game engine to complete tasks.
• Experience with scalable non-relational databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis).
• Willingness to put player experiences first over own code and ego.
• Ability to work with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proactive communication to unblock themselves within a team.

Responsibilities

• Prototype and build cloud-based microservices in the backend.
• Develop new services and write software design documents.
• Provide general support for live features and releases.
• Collaborate with partners and provide technical feedback.
• Contribute to a healthy engineering culture and learning.
• Partner with designers to iterate on features and improve player experience.
